Health and Wellness Corner

Welcome to “Health and Wellness”.

Here, we provide you with some basic tools and information to monitor and improve your health.

BMI refers to the Body Mass Index whereas WHR gives your Waist-to-Hip Ratio. These measurements are body fat predictors and the tells the associated risks of metabolic and cardiovascular diseases and hypertension. Also, WHR is useful for predicting premature death. Note, WHR is a better predictor of body fat content and of the associated risks.

Monitor your BMI, WHR and Daily Calorie Intake regularly!

We support limited calorie intake and adequate exercise to promote health and wellness.

Limited calorie intake means the consumption in food and drink of 1400 to 1750 kilocalories for females and 1800 to 2200 kilocalories for males, both of average body weight.

Adequate exercise means doing about 3 hours of moderate aerobic exercise divided into 3 – 5 times weekly sessions with healthcare advice to protect you from unnecessary harm or injury. We encourage twice weekly resistance/weight training for maintenance of good WHR.

We hope that you benefited from the use of our information and tools.

Thank you for visiting our Health and Wellness Corner.

Be healthy!
